Washington Square Review at LitCrawl

Please Join Washington Square Review for our first event of the season, with readings by Akhil Sharma (An Obedient Father, 2001), and recent contributors Farrah Field (Wolf and Pilot, 2012) and Lynn Melnick (If I Should Say I Have Hope, 2012) on September 14 at 6pm at Dempsey’s pub.

About our readers:

AKHIL SHARMA is the author of the novel An Obedient Father (2001), winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award that year. His other honors include a Stegner Fellowship, a Whiting Writer’s Award, and several O. Henry Awards for his short stories, which have appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Best American Short Stories, and elsewhere.

FARRAH FIELD is the author of two books of poetry: Rising (2009) and Wolf and Pilot (2012), both published by Four Way Books. She is also the author of the chapbook Parents (2011) from Immaculate Disciples Press and her poems were selected by Kevin Young for The Best American Poetry 2011. She lives in Brooklyn where she co-owns Berl’s Poetry Shop.

LYNN MELNICK is the author of If I Should Say I Have Hope (YesYes Books, 2012). Her poetry has appeared in Antioch Review, BOMB, Boston Review, Denver Quarterly, Guernica, Gulf Coast, jubilat, Narrative, Paris Review, Poetry Daily, A Public Space, and elsewhere.
