Genesis
C. Dylan Bassett
there is thunder and there is thunder
nails clack near my pillow in the empty can
all at once the tide goes out from every shore
like the sleeper’s unconscious breathing
a noise becoming a language becoming
a greater capacity for faith
a song for which I’d sell my ears
